Book a Private Legal Consultant for Living & Working in Vietnam

Vietnam has no retirement visa. If you want to live here long-term, the route that works is your own company, a work permit and a residence card — and whether it works for you depends on your nationality, your sector, your documents and your timing. Sixty minutes with a licensed Vietnamese corporate lawyer on your case specifically.

Honest go / no-go answer Written mini-roadmap Fee credited if you engage

Watch this before you spend anything

The long-term visa options for foreigners in Vietnam, explained in plain English.

If after watching you still cannot tell which route fits your own case — that is exactly what the private session is for.

Sixty minutes on your own situation

Not a generic overview you could have read online — a lawyer looking at your specific case.

Eligibility check

Your nationality (WTO / non-WTO) and whether your intended activity is open to 100% foreign ownership, conditional, or effectively closed. Consulting, trading and IT are open; a gallery, retail shop or F&B outlet is a very different conversation.

Your route to a residence card

The full sequence in the right order — company (IRC & ERC) → work permit → labour visa → temporary residence card — and what each step demands of you in documents, money and time.

The conditions that decide it

Degree or Vietnamese director. A Vietnamese employee on payroll and insurance. Premises whose approved function matches your activity. And city choice — Hanoi and Da Nang set capital minimums that Ho Chi Minh City does not.

A written go / no-go

You leave with a short written roadmap: realistic steps, timeline and an indicative budget — including the yearly compliance cost most people forget about until it arrives.

1

Tell us your case

Fill in the short form below — nationality, current status, what you intend to do. Two minutes, and it is what makes the session worth your money.

2

Pay USD 180

Card or PayPal. The fee is what keeps this serious on both sides — and it is credited toward your service package if you go ahead.

3

Get your slot

We confirm a time that works across your timezone and send the video-call link, plus a short checklist so you arrive prepared.

Please do not book if…

  • You want residency without a real business behind it.
  • You are looking for a nominee arrangement, or a Vietnamese person to hold things in their name.
  • You want a foreign-owned company in order to buy land — it cannot; it may only lease, and may buy property only inside projects licensed for foreign sale.
  • Your budget covers the licence but not the years of compliance that follow.

We would rather you keep your money than pay us for a plan we do not believe in.

Why this session is paid

The honest answer helps you decide whether to book.

Free advice is worth what you pay for it

General answers are everywhere now, including from AI. What is not free is a lawyer reading your passport, your sector and your documents and telling you what will actually happen. That preparation is what you are paying for.

It protects the answer you get

When a session is free, the incentive is to say yes and deal with the problems later. When it is paid, we can afford to tell you no on day one — which is usually the answer that saves you most.

It comes back to you

The fee is credited toward your service package if you engage — up to the full amount on a complete engagement. If you proceed, the session effectively cost you nothing.

It is a fraction of the mistake

Registering the wrong activity, in the wrong city, without the conditions in place costs months and thousands of dollars to unwind. USD 180 to find that out in advance is the cheapest part.

Frequently asked questions

Is the USD 180 refundable?
It is credited, not refunded. If you go ahead with a service package the fee is credited toward it — up to the full amount on a complete engagement. If we conclude your plan is not viable, you keep the written explanation, which is usually worth far more than the fee.
Who will I actually be speaking to?
Realtique arranges and attends; the legal assessment is delivered by our licensed Vietnamese corporate law partner, a firm specialised in foreign investment into Vietnam. One engagement, one point of contact, your information kept confidential.
Can you guarantee I will get a residence card?
No — and be careful with anyone who does. Outcomes depend on your nationality, sector, documents and the authority reviewing your file. What we can do is tell you honestly, before you spend money, whether your plan is realistic and what would have to change.
How soon can we speak?
We confirm within one working day and normally schedule within two to five days depending on your timezone. If your situation is time-critical — a residence card expiring, a marriage ending, a lease being signed — say so in the form and we will prioritise it.
Which language is the session in?
English or Vietnamese, whichever you prefer. Realtique attends throughout, so nothing is lost between you and the legal side.
I already have a company here. Is this still useful?
Often more useful. Common cases: a structure registered for the wrong activity, a work permit that cannot be renewed, a residence card about to lapse, or an accountant who quietly stopped filing. Bring what you have and we will tell you where you stand.
What if I am not ready to commit yet?
Read the full guide first — it is free and deliberately blunt about what does not work. Book the session when you have a specific plan and specific numbers to test.
