LONG THANH AIRPORT ARE IN THE TOP 16 MOST AWAITED AIRPORT PROJECTS IN THE WORLD
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the project is in the top 16 most awaited airport projects in the world and can contribute to GDP growth from 3-5% when officially put into operation. Long Thanh International Airport Project has an area of 5,000 hectares, the total investment for the whole project is 336,630 billion VND, equivalent to 16 billion 30 million USD, divided into 3 phases. Total investment of phase 1 is 109,111,742 billion VND, completed and put into operation in 2025.

This is an important event of the country, marking the opening of a “super airport” with the largest scale in the country. The Groundbreaking Ceremony of Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 developed by Airports Corporation of Vietnam – JSC (ACV) is the first important event in 2021 of transport industry and is also the most important project in the aviation sector ever.

The event welcomed Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and many leaders of Dong Nai province as Ministry of Transport, State Capital Management Committee in Enterprises and People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province.
Long Thanh Airport is built as 4F level according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), is an important airport of the country, aiming to become one of the international airport transit centers of the area. Traffic directly connected with Long Thanh airport includes: route No. 1 connecting the airport with Highway 51, size of 6 lanes; route No. 2 connects the airport with Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh highway with 4 lanes.
Previously, on October 20, 2020, the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province handed over to the Ministry of Transport an area of 2,589.15 hectares for coordinated management. In which, in the scope of phase one is 1,810 ha; the additional handover is 779.15ha.

When the whole expressway is completed, the traffic connecting the Southeast to the Central Highlands becomes more convenient, reducing the load on Highway 20, shortening the travel time between the two regions.
