Removing Wall Separating Vinhomes & Saigon Pearl
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has proposed to remove the wall separating the two projects: Vinhomes Central Park and Saigon Pearl (Binh Thanh District) in order to open new route which reduces congestion and boosts regional transportation.
Wall Blocking Riverside Route
Riverside road along two luxury condo complexes are being seperated by…a wall
The degradation of Nguyen Huu Canh overpass has been leading to serious traffic jam at rush hours on surrounding roads. Therefore, the internal roads of riverside projects are utilized to mitigate traffic congestion on the main road.
However, Tran Trong Kim Street – the riverside route leading from Saigon Bridge to the Vinhomes project is being blocked by a 8,2 ft high wall – the border between Vinhomes and Saigon Pearl. Residents who want to commute between two neighboring places have to take 1-kilometer long way through Nguyen Huu Canh road.

The wall was built and managed by Saigon Pearl. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture, the route that two projects are using as internal roads are actually public construction. However, because it is still under management and maintenance of Vinhomes and Saigon Pearl, handing over has not been requested yet.
According to the latest update, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport of had already worked with representatives of Vinhomes and Saigon Pearl to discuss plan to remove the wall. Legal examination of the wall is also underway.
Reduce Traffic Jam And Expand Regional Connection
The location of the wall
If the plan for dismantling the wall of Vinhomes – Saigon Pearl is approved and implemented, it would be more accessible from Thu Duc City, Saigon Bridge and Nguyen Huu Canh Road to the city center through Tran Trong Kim Street.
Thanks to that, the route Nguyen Huu Canh, Dien Bien Phu would be less crowded. Residents living in the two projects can also access District 1 more conveniently and quickly.
In particular, there is no need to wait until the door opening time to be able to move back and forth between the two residential areas.
This is also a remarkable step forward in the “super projects” forming the Saigon riverside road in Ho Chi Minh City. Especially in the context of neighboring areas such as District 2, District 9, Thu Duc (Thu Duc City) – which is directly connected to Binh Thanh, is rapidly developing, the new route will optimize the trade ability between regions for sustainable development in the future.
What People Think About This Change?
Some expressed concerns that the breaking the border would increase the density of traffic into residential areas, affecting privacy and security in the area. However, many people agree on the dismantling of the wall and expect the project to be carried out as soon as possible to facilitate regional and city transportantion which contributes to promote future developments.
