Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival, Da Lat, 6–8 November 2026: Lisa Ono, Raul Midón, Nik West, Hồng Nhung with Nguyên Lê — Why the Closing Night Is at Haus Da Lat, and What a Festival Says About Da Lat Property

Short answer: the Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival 2026 — described in the Vietnamese press as the country’s first international jazz festival — runs for three nights, 6, 7 and 8 November 2026, in Da Lat: an open-air opening at Lâm Viên Square by Xuân Hương Lake, a second night at the square in front of the Hòa Bình Theatre (the Da Lat market precinct), and a closing night at Haus Da Lat for invited guests. It is organised by the HAUS Foundation (a member of The One Destination, the developer of Haus Da Lat), directed and supported by the Lâm Đồng Provincial People’s Committee, with composer Huy Tuấn as festival and artistic director; the international line-up includes Lisa Ono, Raul Midón, Nik West, Dadada and JKC, and the Vietnamese side Hồng Nhung with Nguyên Lê, Trần Thu Hà with Hoài Sa, Đức Trí’s Musique de Salon and the Trần Mạnh Tuấn Fusion Band (SGGP, 19 Oct 2026; Thanh Niên, 14 Oct 2026; Tuổi Trẻ, 12 Oct 2026; VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)).

Realtique’s reading of the coverage published 12–28 October 2026: this is the first time a Da Lat property developer has put its name to an international music festival steered by the provincial government — and chosen its own project, Haus Da Lat (5 ha at 1 Đinh Tiên Hoàng, on Xuân Hương Lake), to close the programme. This article does three things: sums up the schedule, venues and line-up so you can plan a trip; explains why Da Lat and why Haus in the organisers’ own words; and reads, at the right scale, what a cultural festival does and does not say about Da Lat property values. Festival details come from public press and may change with the organiser’s announcements; this is not investment advice.

What the Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival 2026 Is — Who Organises It, When and Where

The Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival (VJHF) is a three-night jazz festival whose first season takes place in Da Lat from 6 to 8 November 2026. The organiser is the HAUS Foundation, a member of The One Destination; the Lâm Đồng Provincial People’s Committee directs and supports it; composer Huy Tuấn — known for HOZO, the Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival — conceived it and serves as festival and artistic director (SGGP, 19 Oct 2026; Tuổi Trẻ, 12 Oct 2026; Kenh14, 13 Oct 2026). The press calls it “Vietnam’s first jazz congress”; Huy Tuấn puts it more precisely: a jazz festival with world-class guests “I am confident has never happened in Vietnam” — nobody has concentrated three straight days in one place with a line-up like this (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)).

NightVenueCharacter (per the organisers)
6 NovLâm Viên Square, on Xuân Hương LakeOpen-air opening night, a wide public space
7 NovSquare in front of the Hòa Bình Theatre, Da Lat market precinctA street stage — listeners “can start hearing jazz from a chance pause on the way past”
8 NovHaus Da Lat (1 Đinh Tiên Hoàng)Closing night at a more intimate, curated scale — for invited guests

Two things to be clear about from the start: the first two nights are in public spaces so residents and visitors can attend directly; the last is an invitation-only programme, and as of 29 October no report gives a ticket price or a sales channel for any night — Realtique does not guess; follow the organiser’s official channels (Thanh Niên, 14 Oct 2026; Kenh14, 13 Oct 2026). The schedule may change with the organiser’s announcements.

The Line-Up: Lisa Ono, Raul Midón, Nik West — and the Vietnamese Projects

International: Lisa Ono — the Japanese singer synonymous with bossa nova, called “Asia’s queen of bossa nova”, a Japan Gold Disc Award winner in the jazz category; Raul Midón — the blind American guitarist and singer, twice nominated for a Grammy in the jazz-album category, blending jazz with pop, soul, R&B, flamenco and Latin; Nik West — American electric bassist, producer and founder of the Queen of Strings competition; plus Dadada and JKC (Thanh Niên, 14 Oct 2026; Kenh14, 13 Oct 2026; SGGP, 19 Oct 2026).

Vietnam: guitarist Nguyên Lê brings his band from France to join diva Hồng Nhung in the music of Trịnh Công Sơn (continuing their live concert Bống là ai?); composer Hoài Sa reworks familiar Vietnamese songs as smooth jazz with Trần Thu Hà as lead vocalist; composer Đức Trí — whom Huy Tuấn calls “a son-in-law of Da Lat” — brings Musique de Salon – Le Grand Orchestre et Jazz to the city for the first time; the Trần Mạnh Tuấn Fusion Band blends Western harmony with the pentatonic scale, folk songs and traditional instruments (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn); Thanh Niên, 14 Oct 2026; SGGP, 19 Oct 2026). Kenh14 adds singers Bình An, Bùi Lan Hương and Lan Nhã to Đức Trí’s programme (single source).

Huy Tuấn explains why Vietnamese artists sit beside the international names: “Many people think jazz is foreign music. In fact the genre has long had a life in Vietnam” — many works by Trịnh Công Sơn and Phạm Duy have been arranged as jazz, and the bossa nova that Vietnamese listeners love is itself a branch of contemporary jazz (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)). A night-by-night programme had not been published in the press as of 29 October.

Why Da Lat: Climate, Architecture and the UNESCO Creative City of Music Title

Huy Tuấn says Da Lat was the first place he thought of, “not Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City”: four seasons in a day; November is the cool-sunshine season — afternoon rain thins out, the sun is golden but the wind stays crisp, mist covers the early morning and late night; a century of French architecture; and the city’s name is read from the Latin Dat Aliis Laetitiam Aliis Temperiem — “gives joy to some and freshness to others” (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)). He also sets jazz beside coffee: both came to Vietnam with the French and climbed to the Lâm Đồng highlands, and “jazz is an espresso” — good or bad, it all shows.

The policy foundation is Da Lat’s title as a UNESCO Creative City in the field of music, received on 31 October 2023 (the same round as Hội An for crafts and folk art) — the first creative city of music in Vietnam (SGGP, 31 Oct 2023 (UNESCO)). Huy Tuấn refers directly to “the task UNESCO assigned” and takes Indonesia and Thailand as the benchmark: hundreds of jazz festivals, one of them among the world’s largest, built over twenty years — he wants VJHF to become a brand that international artists choose on their Asian tours (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn); Thanh Niên, 14 Oct 2026).

Lâm Đồng People’s Committee Chairman Hồ Văn Mười says the festival “suggests a long-term approach — turning culture into a development resource, so that artistic value keeps spreading into tourism, services and community life” (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)). That is the most important sentence in this article for a property buyer — Realtique returns to it in section 5.

The 8 November Closing Night at Haus Da Lat: Why the Developer Is Behind the Festival — and What That Says About the Project

Huy Tuấn chose Haus Da Lat for the final night because “a story of world musical heritage cannot do without a space of heritage stature”, and he believes the building “will become a new architectural heritage of Da Lat and Vietnam” (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)). The organisers describe the night as one where light, architecture, landscape, the distance between artists and audience and the rhythm of conversations after the show “can all become part of the experience” (SGGP, 19 Oct 2026; VnEconomy, 12 Oct 2026).

Haus Da Lat, for readers who have not followed it: a 5-ha complex at 1 Đinh Tiên Hoàng on Xuân Hương Lake, developed by The One Destination on an ESG brief, designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates (KKAA), with three Haus Residences buildings holding 68 Sky Villas and Sky Mansions, Haus Wellness by Chiva-Som, an InterContinental hotel and the Haus Mall (VI), and a lakeside pine-forest park; the 1010 Private Club — Vietnam’s first private members’ club — is scheduled to open in November 2026. The full picture is in our Haus Da Lat 2026 guide; location and Lâm Đồng infrastructure in the location article (VI).

How Realtique reads a developer staging a festival: the HAUS Foundation is organising an event steered by the provincial government, with an international line-up, and putting the first two nights into public spaces — the developer is buying cultural position for the project, not just running an advertisement. For a buyer that cuts two ways: (1) it shows the developer treats the project as a long-running destination (wellness, members’ club, hotel, festival) — consistent with how Haus has been positioned from the start; (2) but a concert does not replace the three things a buyer must check: actual construction progress, the freehold-title paperwork and the handover schedule — Realtique keeps those in the Haus Da Lat buyer’s guide. The 8 November night is invitation-only; anyone wanting to view the project still books a normal visit through the developer or agent, not through the festival.

What the Festival Says About Da Lat Property Values — and How to Read It Correctly

The question clients have asked Realtique this week: “Da Lat has an international festival — do prices go up?” The straight answer: a festival does not move prices; what moves them is the pool of people who come to live, rent and return. The festival is only evidence of three slower things:

  1. Da Lat is being repositioned through culture, not just scenery. The 2023 UNESCO title, the 2026 jazz festival and the chairman’s line about “culture as a development resource” point the same way. For resort property that pulls a client base that stays longer and spends more — a fit for premium apartments let for longer stays rather than weekend rooms.
  2. Japanese, Korean and Singaporean visitors are the jazz audience — and the second-home tenants of Da Lat. Lisa Ono is Japanese; bossa nova and smooth jazz are what middle-aged North-East Asian audiences listen to. Realtique has no nationality data for the festival itself, so this is an inference about the audience, not a rental-demand forecast.
  3. Infrastructure still decides: the Dầu Giây – Liên Khương expressway, which cuts Saigon – Da Lat to about three hours, currently carries a completion date pushed to Q4 2028 in the sources Realtique records in the Haus location article (VI). The festival happens before the expressway — the “destination” value is being built first, the infrastructure arrives later; a buyer should plan a 3–5-year hold, not one year.

For comparison: in the same week Realtique covered Sun Saphia Residence in Da Nang (beachfront tourist apartments) — resort products with different titles. Haus Da Lat is published by its developer as freehold (see the buyer’s guide), the biggest difference against term-limited tourist apartments. Haus Da Lat prices are not published widely — Realtique records “on request” and does not print word-of-mouth figures. The cost of capital for a 3–5-year hold is in our savings–gold–stocks–rental comparison (updated for the Fed on 29 October).

Foreigners and Overseas Vietnamese: Going to the Festival Is Easy — Who Can Buy at Haus Da Lat?

Attending: international visitors join the two public nights like any tourist; 8 November requires an invitation. Buying: on the information Realtique holds to date, Haus Da Lat is not sold to foreign individuals — the developer’s approach targets Vietnamese citizens and overseas Vietnamese who still hold Vietnamese citizenship (who buy as domestic citizens, freehold). People of Vietnamese origin without citizenship fall under the general rules for foreigners — see can foreigners buy property in Vietnam — and for this project the open route is a long-term lease once the project is operating.

For overseas Vietnamese considering Haus Da Lat because of the festival: three things to ask if you are back in Vietnam on 6–8 November — (1) the freehold-title documents and construction progress at the time of viewing; (2) the payment schedule and loan programme (Realtique records in the buyer’s guide a 65% loan at zero interest for a set period — reconfirm current terms with the developer); (3) the fit-out delivered to the 1508 London design — see the buyer’s guide and our step-by-step buying process for which show apartments are open.

How to Do the Festival: A Suggested Three-Day Plan and Five Things to Know

Huy Tuấn designed the festival to “keep the audience for the whole weekend”: coffee in the morning, sightseeing by day, music at night, a different venue each day for a different mood (VnExpress, 28 Oct 2026 (interview with Huy Tuấn)). Realtique’s suggested plan for visitors from Ho Chi Minh City:

DayDaytimeEvening
Fri 6 NovTravel up in the morning (50-minute flight or 6–7 hours by road); check in, walk Xuân Hương LakeOpen-air opening at Lâm Viên Square — bring a jacket, the mist comes down after 9 pm
Sat 7 NovCoffee around Hòa Bình and the Da Lat market; French-era architecture (the palaces, churches, the railway station)Street stage in front of the Hòa Bình Theatre — arrive early, open space, no fixed seating
Sun 8 NovIf property is on your mind: book a Haus Da Lat visit through an agent on the normal schedule, not via the festivalClosing night at Haus Da Lat for invited guests only; without an invitation, the city’s small jazz venues are the alternative

Five things to know: (1) November is the cool-sunshine season and nights can fall below 15°C — pack a coat; (2) the three nights are the first weekend of November right after the city’s first large-scale festival launch, so book central rooms early; (3) the first two nights are in public spaces with no ticket information yet — watch the organiser’s channels to see whether registration is needed; (4) 8 November is not on general sale according to reports to date; (5) the night-by-night line-up has not been published — everything here is from press coverage to 29 October 2026 and may change. Realtique will update this article after the festival.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is the Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival 2026?
Three nights, 6, 7 and 8 November 2026, in Da Lat: 6 November at Lâm Viên Square on Xuân Hương Lake (open air, public), 7 November at the square in front of the Hòa Bình Theatre in the Da Lat market precinct, and 8 November at Haus Da Lat (1 Đinh Tiên Hoàng) for invited guests.

Who organises the Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival?
The HAUS Foundation — a member of The One Destination, the developer of Haus Da Lat — organises it, directed and supported by the Lâm Đồng Provincial People’s Committee; composer Huy Tuấn conceived it and is festival and artistic director.

Which artists perform at the Da Lat jazz festival 2026?
International: Lisa Ono (Japan, bossa nova), Raul Midón (USA, twice Grammy-nominated), Nik West (USA, bass), Dadada, JKC. Vietnam: Nguyên Lê and his band from France with Hồng Nhung in the music of Trịnh Công Sơn; Hoài Sa with Trần Thu Hà (smooth jazz); Đức Trí with Musique de Salon – Le Grand Orchestre et Jazz; the Trần Mạnh Tuấn Fusion Band. The night-by-night programme had not been published as of 29 October 2026.

Where do I buy tickets for the Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival, and how much?
As of 29 October 2026 the press reports give no ticket price or sales channel. The nights of 6 and 7 November are in public spaces; 8 November at Haus Da Lat is for invited guests. Follow the organiser’s official channels to see whether registration or tickets are required.

Why is the closing night held at Haus Da Lat?
According to festival director Huy Tuấn, a story of musical heritage needs a space of heritage stature, and he believes Haus Da Lat — the 5-ha complex on Xuân Hương Lake designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates — will become a new architectural heritage of Da Lat. The organiser, the HAUS Foundation, also belongs to The One Destination, the project’s developer.

Will the jazz festival push up property prices in Da Lat?
Not directly. The festival is a sign that Da Lat is being repositioned through culture (after the 2023 UNESCO Creative City of Music title), drawing visitors who stay longer and spend more; but resort-property value still depends on infrastructure (the Dầu Giây – Liên Khương expressway is expected by Q4 2028), each project’s legal status and interest rates. Buyers should plan a 3–5-year hold.

⚠️ Note: Festival information is compiled from VnExpress (28 Oct), SGGP (19 Oct), Thanh Niên (14 Oct), Kenh14 (13 Oct), Tuổi Trẻ and VnEconomy (12 Oct 2026); schedule, venues, artists and admission arrangements may change with the organiser’s announcements. Haus Da Lat project information comes from the developer’s published material and Realtique’s earlier articles; sale prices are not published widely. Realtique is a distributor of the project; this article is not investment or legal advice.
