Who Thu Duc suits
Long Thanh airport and the eastern axis
Update, 2 October 2026: the eastern axis gained three concrete milestones in one week. On 29 September 2026 ground was broken on the main spans of the Cat Lai Bridge (total investment VND 24,003 billion, 11.6 km, 55 m navigation clearance, linking Cat Lai ward to the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway) and the Long Hung Bridge (over VND 12,700 billion, linking Long Phuoc ward to the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Expressway near Aqua City); both are scheduled for 2029. On 30 September the 46 km Dong Nai section of Ring Road 4 (over VND 16,000 billion) started work, and from 1 October the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway is open end to end. For a foreign buyer in Thu Duc the practical reading is this: the Binh Trung – An Phu belt (home to Diamond Island and Eaton Park, both open to foreign ownership within the 30% cap) will get a direct road to Long Thanh once the Cat Lai Bridge opens, but the next three years bring works around the My Thuy interchange first; the bridge adds value on completion, not on the groundbreaking date. Our full Vietnamese analysis of both bridges is here.
